Hi! I’m Sarah,
Author, Blogger, Certified Art Practitioner & Certified Life Coach
Growing up in the tiny Minnesota town of Hector shaped who I am today. Those endless summer days of bike rides and pool splashes with friends taught me my first lesson about joy - it's found in life's simple moments. Little did I know how crucial that lesson would become.

Life unfolded as it often does - marriage, three beautiful children, and the kind of busy happiness that comes with raising a family. When my kids grew up, I finally had time to pursue my own dreams. I started writing novels, letting my imagination run wild just like in those childhood days.

Then 2011 hit. Systemic lupus and degenerative disk disease crashed into my world like uninvited guests who refused to leave. Just as I was learning to dance with chronic illness, life threw another curveball - a devastating betrayal and divorce that shattered everything I thought I knew about love and trust.
For a while, joy felt impossible. How do you smile when your body betrays you? How do you laugh when your heart is breaking?

But here's what I discovered (with help from God, my amazing family, friends, and my life coach): Joy isn't the absence of pain - it's the presence of purpose. Like that day my young son spilled an entire gallon of milk during homeschool, and instead of exploding, we simply cleaned it up together. That moment taught me that sometimes our greatest breakthroughs come in the midst of mess.

Today, I help others find their own path to joy, not despite their challenges, but through them. Because here's what I know for sure: Your circumstances don't define you. Joy is still possible. And sometimes, the most beautiful chapters of our lives start in the middle of chaos.

"Life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."

With joy and humor,
Sarah
Humor In Chaos Podcast
Welcome to The Humor In Chaos Podcast!
Humor In Chaos is my mantra for dealing with life-altering challenges. I've experienced a few myself including chronic illness, betrayal, and a long painful divorce. At times, they overlapped. There were days when I felt crushed to find powder believing I wasn't worthy of seeing the light of day.
That wasn't true. I was worthy, and so are you.
Please join me in my quest to help other women experiencing the worst of life to find their own humor in the chaos.
If you or someone you know would be a wonderful guest on this podcast, someone who can inspire other women struggling in life to continue to move forward because there is a light at the end of the tunnel, please contact me at humorinchaos@gmail.com.
You are worthy because you are.
